Christmas Wreath
A Carte Fini Tutorial by RoyasCreations
Hi everyone,
I'm so glad that you have joined me for this Christmas tutorial. Thank to the wonderful folks at
Carte Fini, we can come together and make this beautiful wreath together. Let's get started!!!
Here are the supplies you need for this tutorial:
* Scissors
* Glue gun
* 22 gage metal wire
* Needle nose pliers
* 1 roll of Carte Fini 180 gram Ivy Green crepe paper roll #591
Cut 20 inches of the Carte Fini Forrest Green Crepe paper. Then cut 2 inches across the grain:
Fold the paper in half, fold again in half and then fold in half one last time; three times altogether. Then hold the paper firmly and cut 1.5 inches along the grain. Each cut should be 1/16 of an inch. Continue cutting until you achieve a grass like shape:
Cut 6 inches of the 22 gage wire. Place a dot of hot glue to one end of the paper and twist the paper around the wire until you get to the end of the paper.
Then add a dot of glue to the end of the paper and hold the paper down until the glue cools off. Congratulations...you just made your first pine stem!!!
You need to put together 3 pine stems for each pine stem bunch. Make enough pine stem bunches to accommodate your design. To make a pine stem bunch, take one stem (primary) and add a line of hot glue to the bottom of the stem. Then place the bottom of the second stem on top of the glue on the primary and hold until the glue cools off. Now place a line of hot glue on the other side of the primary stem and place the bottom of the third stem on top of the glue and hold until it cools off. Repeat this process until you have your desired number of pine stem bunches.
I love making this Christmas wreath for my family so I know that it is going to bring you and yours great joy as well. Let's start making this simple yet beautiful rose!!!
Here are the supplies you need:* Scissors* Glue gun* 22 gage metal wire* Needle nose pliers* Petal template - 3 inches length and 1.5 inches width* 1 roll of Carte Fini 180 gram Metallic Copper crepe paper #808
* 1 roll of Carte Fini 180 gram Venetian Gold crepe paper #807
Cut 26 inches of the Carte Fini Copper Metallic crepe paper. Using the template, cut out 30 pieces of rose petals as shown in the above picture. Ha ha...I know I am referring to the picture but I promise you...it works!!! Next cut 20 inches of the same Crepe paper. Then cut 2 inches across the grain. Fold the paper in half, fold again in half and then fold in half one last time; three times altogether. Then hold the paper firmly and cut 1.5 inches along the grain. Each cut should be 1/16 of an inch. Continue cutting until you achieve a grass like shape as shown in the pine stem tutorial above:
Cut 6 inches of the 22 gage wire. Place a dot of hot glue to one end of the paper and place the wire on it until the glue cools off. Then roll the paper around itself until you get to the end of the paper. Then place a dot of hot glue to the end of the paper and hold until the glue cools off. This is going to be used as the rose stamen:
It's time to work on the rose petals. Shape a the petal by holding the bottom and use your thumb to gently bend the top of the petal:
Then use your thumbs to hold each side of the petal and collapse your thumbs inward to create a cup shaped petal:
Next, place a dot of hot glue on the bottom of the petal and firmly place it on your rose stamen:
Repeat this process by gluing the petals around the stamen by overlapping each petal until you achieve a full bloom rose:
The next step is to cut the excess wire from the end of the rose so you cannot see any wire appearing at the bottom:
The last step is to place a dot of hot glue on the end of the rose and glue the last petal so it will completely cover the end:
Congratulations!!! You just made your first beautiful rose!!! Now use this same tutorial to make the off white rose using Carte Fini 180 gram crepe paper #807.
It's time to make the hydrangeas!!! Here are the supplies you need: * Scissors* Glue gun* 28 gage gold metal wire* Needle nose pliers* Petal template - 1-1/2 inches length and 1/2 inch width* 1 roll of Carte Fini 180 gram Venetian Gold crepe paper #807* Glass or plastic rhinestones* White threadCut 2 inches of the Venetian Gold crepe paper and fold over 3 times. Then use the template to cut out the hydrangea petals. You need 4 petals for each hydrangea:
Take a hydrangea petal and place your thumbs on each side and gently pull to slightly stretch the paper. Then place your thumbs back in the middle of the petal and gently expand your thumbs outward:
Next, cut 4 inches of the 28 gage wire. Now insert the wire through the hole in the rhinestone and bend the wire back and twist it around the wire as shown in the picture:
Place the bottom of the petal on the wire just below the rhinestone and use some thread to tie the petal to the wire stem:
Add the remaining 3 petals exactly the same way to the wire by slightly overlapping each petal:
Cut the stem on the wire at the base of the flower and continue this process to make as many hydrangeas as you prefer.
Now, use the glue gun to attach your pine stem bunches, roses and hydrangeas to the wreath:
Yay...you've done it!!! Congratulations on making your beautiful Christmas wreath!!!
